Composition

The hair is composed of 80-85% of keratin – rich in sulfur – an aspect that many cosmetic products for hair set forth on their labels as a competitive advantage. The rest of the chemical elements which involves the formation of healthy hair are iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, iodine, protein.

Structure

A hair under a microscope resembles a strand of wool, where a continuum of scales superficially negligible (the “cuticle”) determines the brightness and color that the human eye perceives. This happens as long as the scales are arranged parallel to the hair, and integrity. When the hair is nourished and / or abused, these scales suffer an impairment that has the effect of dull hair, plus that is unprotected, and therefore more likely to be brittle.
